do-not-edit.el sets an Emacs file buffer read-only if the file has

DO NOT EDIT

or similar near the start. It stops you accidentally editing generated files. Various forms from various generator programs are recognised. A Perl "blib" check is included to set read-only on MakeMaker build files too.

do-not-edit.el is free software (free as in freedom), published under the terms of the GNU General Public License (v3 or up).
