aumix-mode.el
aumix-mode.el
runs the
aumix program in a
terminal
buffer in
Emacs.
It's the same as in a tty, but you don't have to leave Emacs.
aumix
(as of its version 2.9.1) uses the OSS
/dev/mixer
. It's possible ALSA has additional
individual volume controls. Check alsamixer
or similar
if aumix
shows volumes are up but still no sound.
aumix-mode.el
is
free software (free
as in freedom), published under the terms of the
GNU
General Public License (v3 or up).

The sig files are Gnu PG ascii armoured
signatures generated from my key. The source
package includes a debian
directory and some self-tests. The
.el
alone is enough to run it.
Other Emacs packages using aumix include
aumix.el
and
aumix-osd.el
-- direct M-x commands using aumix for one-off volume
adjustments.
volume.el
-- includes aumix among its back-ends for volume changing in the
minibuffer.
mpg123.el
-- uses aumix for its volume commands.
